Nāu te rourou, nāku te rourou, ka ora ai te iwi
Everyone can contribute, a piece of the puzzle, and by working together we can all flourish.
Our Industry Partners
Partnership Map
The Circular Innovations (CIRCUIT) Centre aims to use a holistic approach. Forming a team, with knowledge and expertise across many disciplines along with engagement and support from industry stakeholders and communities, we address the current waste surplus, and resource limitations, and improve processes to accelerate the transition into a low-carbon circular economy in Aotearoa New Zealand for long-term economic prosperity.
Partnering with Iwi/Māori
CIRCUIT honours Te Tiriti o Waitangi and upholds the principle of partnership in working with Iwi/Māori.
We work closely with Māori researchers, communities and businesses in a way that respects rangatiratanga (the right for Māori to make decisions for Māori) and aligns with Te Ao Māori, Mātauranga Māori (Māori knowledge), kaitiakitanga (guardianship and protection) and mauri of taonga.
The research programme of our research centre identifies and champions Māori research areas and Māori community responses to a circular economy. Our innovative solutions and technologies are designed and developed within a collaborative framework whereby iwi in partnership with our researchers, are at the centre of delivering research and our obligations to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
